Worldwide Record Release for Kings of Limbs

Back in February, Radiohead dropped King of Limbs digitally out of nowhere and the only way you could get the album was through the band’s website. There were options for fancy CD/Vinyl packages but I figured there would be a proper worldwide release.

But after a month flew by, I thought maybe this was Radiohead’s new direction of ditching the stores and going web-based – I would have to buckle under the pressure and purchase my first digital release.

But, just like their digital launch is was announced today via the band’s “Radiohead Notice” that the band’s eighth album will be released worldwide, “Available at all good record stores” in Canada/USA on March 29th in 12″ Vinyl and CD format.

I thought it would have been nice if the band waited until Record Store Day (April 16th) and released King just to the indie stores involved – but perhaps another year.
